Having initially set out to use a third part unity plugin to create the onboarding scene, I've revised my thinking and will programme it independently. I'm doing this because doing this independently allows me to keep a certain aesthetic to the onboard and support the overall visual style of the game.
Doing this independently also allows me to ensure that the first person sequence is able to convey the ideas of the opening sequence being a town under attack.
Using collapsed towers allows me to show that the attack occuring in this sequence is underway and hopefully show the threat players will feel.
The First person perspective is being used to allow players to immediately interact with the world. Although this sequence is more of an onboarding tool, it will provide the premise for the rest of the game, despite that occuring in the third person.
